Christian education opportunities are available on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:00. Personal growth opportunities are also available at other times throughout the week.

The pre-school and elementary classes use a Biblically-based curriculum which introduces even our youngest children to our friend, Jesus. They learn, at a very early age, the most basic of Christ's teachings through stories, crafts and interaction with their classmates. The lessons grow as the children grow, keeping them interested and challenged throughout their elementary years.

The Middle School & High School Youth classes explore important social, emotional, and spiritual issues to help them develop a faithful response in their Christian walk. The curriculum includes United Methodist and non-United Methodist resources and Biblical materials.

New Horizon Seekers is an adult class which does in-depth studies of various books of the Bible, as well as topical studies, in a discussion group setting. Class members volunteer to assume leadership for a particular study.

The Inquirers is a class for adults of all ages. Their study focuses on various topics of the class members' choosing in a discussion style setting. Past topics include Jesus...the Man, Health & Wholeness, Breaking the Code: Understanding the Book of Revelation.

Bereans is an intergenerational Bible study for adults who search the scriptures together, seeking God's answers to the questions which we all have about life, relationships, Christian witness in the world, family, etc.

The Young Adult class focuses on modeling their lives after Jesus Christ through reading, discussion, and prayer.

Disciple Bible Study Groups (Disciple Online) are formed each year depending on demand. They meet for two and a half hours every week for 32 to 34 weeks, typically from September to May. Three Disciple courses have been offered. Disciple I, an overview of the entire Bible, is a must for anyone desiring disciplined Bible study. (Disciple I is a prerequisite for taking higher numbered Disciple classes.) Disciple II is an in-depth study of the Books of Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts, emphasizing the use of Biblical reference materials. Disciple III focuses on the Old Testament prophets and the New Testament letters of Paul.  Disciple IV is entitled Under the Tree of Life and studies the Wisdom books and those written by John.

Christian Believer is a 30-week Bible study built around the central doctrines of our Christian faith. This study helps us appreciate our hymnody, beliefs, sacraments, and church history in a much deeper way.

Companions in Christ is a powerful small-group experience that builds spiritual practices, helping participants to open more fully to God and to one another. This 28-week spiritual journey draws participants into daily time with God with individual reading and reflection, then gathers them weekly with others in their faith community for deeper exploration.

The Way of Forgiveness is a nine-week small-group experience in spiritual formation from the Companions in Christ series. It focuses on God’s grace and blessedness and explores Christ’s call to live a forgiven and forgiving life.

The Way of Blessedness is a nine-week small-group experience based on the Beatitudes. In this third release in the Companions in Christ series, we are called to let go of pride so that we can value all people equally, forgive and accept forgiveness, and to live simply and receive graciously from others.

Special purpose classes are offered at various times during the year. One example is the weekly evening studies held during Lent. As another example, our pastor recently offered a thirteen-week course on personality types and how they influence our spiritual life. Every summer the children attend a Vacation Bible School; in recent years the school has been held in the evening to allow the participation of working parents.

Walk to Emmaus (Greater Dayton Emmaus Community) is a 3-day spiritual enrichment experience designed to inspire, challenge, and equip local church members for Christian action. It can be a life-changing experience, as more and more of our members are discovering. Walks are held several times each year in the Dayton area. You are encouraged to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Contact the church office for more information and an application.
